I am settling into my studio after months of traveling back and forth from GA and SC. I am rediscovering supplies, paintings, and frames and yesterday I delivered new work to my local gallery in Breckenridge.
I have also been concerned about the flooding in the Pagosa Springs Colorado area. My husband and I have been visiting that beautiful corner of CO for many years and my work has been represented by Two Old Crows Gallery there for many years as well. Fortunately the gallery is ok, but the riverside of Pagosa is not.
I have been inspired by Richard Schmid’s quote: “ Art has the power to do good” to have a special sale of some paintings from the Pagosa area to help raise funds for the victims of the flooding. I was surprised to find several paintings in my studio from times there and decided to offer them at a reduced unframed price. 50% of the sales are going to be sent to St Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Pagosa, where they have created a fund to directly help the area in many ways.Your gift offers steady, practical help to neighbors rebuilding after the 2026 floods. St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church will direct these funds toward emergency needs such as food, temporary shelter, clothing, and basic household supplies. Each contribution, of any size, supports local families as they recover and begin again with safety and dignity.
I debuted “Paintings for Pagosa” on my website yesterday and announced it to my art notes subscribers. I will announce it to my general public tomorrow.
I have already sold one of the paintings! I am so grateful to my collector who will receive a painting while helping the recovery of that area..
My heart is full!
